The Second Book of the Glyst Saga

In Draeden’s Trench

“There’s something down there. Has been since the quake a decade back. Something sleeping… awoke. Something from the bowels of the earth.”

When Cass fails to rendezvous at Aunty El’s roundhouse, Alys and Ethra go looking for him.

Their journey takes them to a mining town in the Beorstehd Mountains, run by the mysterious Feeshun, reputed to drink the blood of Glysters.

Soon, Alys finds herself wandering the gloomy, fungus-lit shafts of Draeden’s Trench. But what else wanders there? Alys is about to find out. What’s more she’s going to discover things about the Glyst, the Abundance and the Maradyn that might best have stayed buried.

In Draeden’s Trench begins immediately following the events of To the Dead City, and takes Alys deeper into the mysteries of the Glyst.

I turn away from the Dracafysian, trying to dispel the notion that the statue’s scars are already mine, hiding an inch or two beneath my skin, waiting to be prised out at the tip of a blade. A stiff wind blows in off the Eeffenn Sea. I wrap my cloak more tightly about myself and pull up my hood.
And then I see the three horsemen.
